Multnomah Falls -Angels Rest, March 26

combination of these two hikes

Amy and I had done a large portion of this hike before in difference chunks, just not all the way through.  We convinced Karen and Sean to come along with us.

We started off at the Multnomah Falls trailhead.  When we got to the top of the main uber-popular hike we took a left instead of a right (which goes to the fall viewpoint).  At this point you follow Multnomah Creek along the trail towards Larch Mountan for about a mile.  This has to be the most wonderful section of hiking that the masses are missing out on.... all the people who go through the effort to get to the top of the falls, yet with a little effort they could easily venture in to some of the PNW most assessable scenic beauty and many wonderfull waterfalls.  Oh well, their loss.

After a while we took the trail towards Wahkeena Falls.  We stayed on this trail for several miles, passing the trail down to the Wahkeena Falls trailhead, and continuing on toward Angels Rest.  We stopped on top of Angels Rest for a snack and to enjoy the view.  This is truly a fantastic viewpoint.... there is a reason the Angels Rest viewpoint is so popular.  Truly stunning.  From here we took the tail down to the trailhead where we had left one of the vehicles, and then took the short drive back to the other and were on our way home.

If I were to do this hike again, I think I would take the time to go ahead and add Devils Rest to the route adding half a mile and 1000 vertical feet to the hike.
